Hamilton: 'There's no point in worrying'

58 laps, exactly like his teammate Valtteri Bottas who achieved the best time of the afternoon session.

And yet, behind this honorable score, Lewis Hamilton had a difficult session. Only fifteenth time out of sixteen, the Briton mainly went to visit the gravel trap where his Mercedes. A minor incident, which did not prevent him from leaving again. The seven-time world champion is not overly worried about his performances.

“There’s no point worrying. I think everyone is focusing on their programs, and that’s what we’re doing, it’s only the second day of testing.”

Hamilton recognizes, however, that the star clan will lack performance. “Compared to the past, it hasn't been particularly helpful. What did we do, 60 laps? Something like that. And Valtteri has only done his first laps, so it's not much compared to the other test days we would normally have, but we are trying to be as efficient as possible. So far we have less miles than some of the others like Red Bull. "

But in terms of performance, it is difficult to compare, especially on a track with such changing conditions. “It was definitely better than yesterday, there wasn't so much sand. The track still doesn't have much grip and the long tracks aren't the easiest, but at least the sun was out.

Today I think the wind did a 180, so the track was very different and you see some places where you can push where you couldn't yesterday. And there are a lot of gusts, as I discovered in turn 13. It's not easy to adjust the car but we are trying to find the sweet spot.

There is one day left for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes to finally complete a complete and trouble-free session.
