Hamilton: Mercedes delighted with W06 Hybrid reliability

Mercedes F1 assures that it did not seek performance at the Jerez tests even if the Brackley team admits to closely following the progress of the Team Ferrari. The reigning world champion team preferred to emphasize the reliability of the W06 Hybrid, which was rarely found wanting at the end of these four days of testing.

Lewis Hamilton was once again the most diligent on the track, completing 117 laps. The new Mercedes has thus traveled 516 loops this week, or 2285km. “It was pretty amazing how reliable the car was and how well we were able to drive. We want to string together the laps without worrying about the times.”, commented the double world champion. “The results are very positive and the car has been better every day. »

The Briton is now awaiting the Barcelona (Spain) tests held from February 19 to 22. “The teams will make changes through winter testing. I can't really speak to the performance of the car but they don't seem any worse than those of last year, which is a good sign. The 117 laps went very well and I am ready to return to Barcelona”, added the Mercedes driver.
