Hamilton regains his throne at the British GP

Mercedes was once again above the rest at the British GP and won a new double at Silverstone with the victory of Lewis Hamilton in front of the poleman Valtteri Bottas. The Finn managed to resist the attacks of the five-time world champion, but gave in to the Briton who took advantage of a safety car following Antonio Giovinazzi's exit from the track (Alfa Romeo) to change your tires. The national star also took the fastest lap in the race on the last lap to celebrate his 6th victory at home and the 80th of his career (the 7th of the season) and leaves with 39 points in advance, while Mercedes flies over the Manufacturers' championship.

The fight for places of honor was hotly contested between Ferrari and Red Bull. While Max Verstappen (Red Bull) had managed to get rid of Charles Leclerc (following a bad strategy of the Team, the Dutchman had just taken 3rd position against Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) before the four-time champion hit him.

Charles Leclerc was thus able to take the last step of the podium ahead of the Red Bulls of Pierre Gasly and Max Verstappen.

Carlos Sainz Jr. (McLaren) retained his 6th place against Daniel Ricciardo (Renault). Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo) takes the points for 8th place ahead of Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) and Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) who saved a tenth place.

The Haas by Romain Grosjen and Kevin Magnussen dropped out following initial contact. Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) was fighting for the podium before hitting Max Verstappen who had just overtaken him.
