Lewis Hamilton wins his sixth victory of the season by winning the Belgian GP at Spa-Francorchamps, where he had already won in 2010. The double world champion retained his pole advantage, unlike Nico Rosberg who lost two positions and who had to work hard to offer a new double to Mercedes. The Briton signs his 80th podium in the discipline and thus equals the performance of Ayrton Senna. He now has a 28-point lead over his teammate.
Romain Grosjean (Lotus) scored his first podium since the Austin GP in Texas in 2013, when he had to start from ninth place following his penalty. The Frenchman was in contact with Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) when the four-time champion saw his right rear tire burst two laps from the finish (like Nico Rosberg in testing). This is the Frenchman’s tenth podium in F1. The German finally finished in 12th place.
Daniil Kvyat (Red Bull) made a superb comeback from 12th position to take fourth place ahead Sergio Pérez (ForceIndia).
Williams had a difficult Grand Prix. Felipe Massa finished in sixth place while Valtteri Bottas ranked ninth after receiving a drive-through. The Finn found himself on the track with two different types of tires following an error by his team.
Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) takes the points from seventh place after resisting pressure from Max Verstappen (Toro Rosso) in the last laps and thus saves a top ten for the 900th Ferrari Grand Prix (see: the file from AUTOhebdo n°2025). Marcus Ericsson (Sauber) completes the top ten.
Carlos Sainz Jr (Toro Rosso) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) abandoned due to mechanical problems, as did Pastor Maldonado (Lotus) and Nico Hulkenberg (Force India). The winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans couldn't even start.
