Hamilton victim of false note from Mercedes F1

Lewis Hamilton did not have success at the Australian Grand Prix. While he started from pole in Melbourne ahead of Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Rosberg, the 2008 world champion, dismounted after two laps after his team detected a problem with his 6l turbo/hybrid V1.6. “My start was not sensational today and I had a lot less power than usual and it was obvious that something was wrong. It seemed I was running on only five cylinders and we had to play it safe and protect the engine even if I wanted to continue. It’s sad but it’s racing and we will get over it. »

The abandonment of Lewis Hamilton is all the more difficult for the Briton to live with as his teammate Nico Rosberg dominated the Australian Grand Prix head and shoulders. “ We have a superb car and a magnificent engine and its performance was very good today as Nico clearly demonstrated", adds the Briton. “My congratulations to him and the team on this victory, it’s a fantastic result for us. I am obviously disappointed with my race, this setback is hard to swallow after all the work done back in our factories. »
