Hockenheim towards an absence from the 2020 calendar

With the coronavirus pandemic and the major overhaul of all motorsport calendars in 2020, the options offered to Liberty Media to compose the program for the F1 evolve every week, with the recent arrival of Mugello for the month of September.

More However, you should not count on the German Hockenheim circuit. As reported by Reuters, the German track was however in negotiations with the championship promoter, without reaching an agreement in the end.

« The decision was made after weeks and months of discussion with F1, indicates the circuit manager Jorn Teske at the news agency. In the end, they decided not to come to our house. So all efforts came to nothing, but that's life.

When we started our discussions, there was always talk of a race without an audience. And a little later in the process, the question was asked if there was any chance of welcoming fans back.

Liberty Media told us that they wanted to advertise all European races from September or October. Whether this will become true, I don't know. We have the regulations in place and we cannot change that. »

The Land of Baden-Württemberg remains opposed to any public gatherings until October. Remember that Liberty Media wanted to start the season on European soil until September before turning to the Americas and then ending the campaign in the Middle East.
