Honda continues discussions for a possible partnership with Red Bull which still does not have an engine manufacturer in 2016. Yasuhisa Arai, the sporting director of the Japanese brand, confirmed in the paddock of the Mexican GP at the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit that talks were underway between the two structures.
“We have been approached by a team, but discussions are still ongoing. Nothing has been decided yet. I have always said this season that we are open (to any proposal)”, commented Yasuhisa Arai.
Bernie Ecclestone, the director of the FOM, had nevertheless indicated in the paddock of the US GP in Austin (Texas) last weekend that McLaren F1 boss Ron Dennis opposed another Asian engine maker alliance next year.
