Hungary EL3: The trifecta for Hamilton

Like yesterday during the second free practice session on the Hungarian track of the Hungaroring in Budapest, the Mercedes W05 Hybrid Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg dominated the last session before qualifying which will take place from 14 p.m. later. For a long time, Lewis Hamilton chained long stints this morning, before going on the offensive in the second half hour. Nico Rosberg tried until the end to dislodge the 2008 World Champion, but ultimately failed by 47 thousandths.

Sebastian Vettel once again showed himself to be the best of the others this morning, by placing his Red Bull RB10 No. 1 more than four tenths behind Hamilton. Daniel Ricciardo got closer to his teammate compared to yesterday and placed himself in front Valtteri Bottas (Williams) and both Ferrari de Fernando Alonso and Kimi Räikkönen, who were the first to start the final sprint in these FP3. Next Kevin Magnussen (McLaren) and both Toro Rosso of Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniil Kvyat who could have a good card to play in qualifying, given the poor performances of the Williams in particular.

The Lotus will have a lot of difficulty getting beyond Q2 with 13th and 14th positions this morning for Maldonado and Grosjean. For his part, Jules Bianchi is still in difficulty with his Marussia, the French bringing up the rear of this last Hungarian free practice session. The removal of the FRIC interconnected suspension system does not help the MR03s, which are currently dominated by the Caterham CT05s since Friday.

The qualifications will be followed from 14 p.m. on AUTOhebdo.fr.
