Horner: “Our best chances are with Renault”

The Bahrain GP did not offer a miracle to Red Bull and its engine manufacturer Renault, once again behind. Daniel Ricciardo was able to place the first RB11 in 6th place before seeing its Power Unit explode on the finish line, while the Toro Rosso gave up due to mechanical problems (engine management for Carlos Sainz Jr and electrical problem for Max Verstappen).

Si tensions between Red Bull and its partner were heated just a few weeks ago, recent meetings between the two parties seem to have resulted in a desire to demonstrate better understanding.

“We have a contract with Renault for 2015 and 2016 and it is in Renault’s interest as much as ours to resolve the issues as quickly as possible. Our best chances are with Renault and vice versa. We have won 50 Grands Prix and 8 titles together and the frustration sometimes boils over”, underlined Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull Racing, on the official F1 website.

Christian Horner was not, however, reassuring following the About Dietrich Mateschitz, the big boss of Red Bull, considering leaving the F1. “You have to listen when he speaks publicly. He explained that Renault should do its job correctly or not at all., launched the director of Red Bull Racing.
