Hülkenberg: Things can change in Montreal

Nico Hulkenberg is one of the good surprises of this start of the season. The new Force India recruit is in fifth place in the Championship after the Monaco Grand Prix where he scored his third top 5 of the season in the space of six races by taking another fifth place. Well helped by the efficient and reliable Power Unit of Mercedes, the Force India can revise its objectives upwards for the rest of the season. “Monaco wasn’t the best or worst circuit for us but we still managed to bring back a superb result”, comments Sergio Pérez’s teammate. “This is one of the best results in F1. I have often said that consistency is our strong point and we have shown once again that this is indeed the case. »

However, the Force India driver does not want to make predictions even if the Force Indias should still shine on the Montreal track. “It’s difficult to say what we will do in Montreal”, underlines the German pilot. “In theory it should be one of the best tracks for us but things can change from one race to another. It's a good thing to still have the soft and super soft tires available because I think the softer compounds are more suitable for our car. The Canadian Grand Prix is one of my favorite events because of the impact it has in the city and its original track. You need good top speed to complete a fast lap and have a car capable of tackling the corners. Courage is also required to pass near walls. »
