After three seasons spent as a reserve driver at Williams, Jack Aitken leaves the Grove structure. The British-Korean driver and the English team have ended their collaboration for the 2023 season, Williams confirmed.

Jack Aitken was given the opportunity to drive for Williams in a Grand Prix, at Sakhir in 2020, to replace George Russell. Since then, he had remained the team's reserve driver, while being present in other competitions and notably in Endurance. The former member of the academy Renault flew in ELMS for Racing Team Turkey last season and participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Algarve Pro Racing.

In 2023, Jack Aitken will participate in the championship IMSA, with the new Cadillac LMDh, with the Action Express Racing team. He will also be present for the 24 Hours of Le Mans thanks to the invitation granted to Action Express Racing by the ACO and the WEC. A golden opportunity for the Londoner, with a program that could not fit into the schedule F1

At present, Williams no longer has an assigned reserve driver for the coming season. She could then trust the drivers from her academy, which includes Zak O'Sullivan, Ollie Gray, Franco Colapinto and Jamie Chadwick. Only the latter currently has a Super License allowing it to take part in a Formula 1 Grand Prix. Unless Mercedes undertakes to “lend” Mick Schumacher if needed.
