Both STR9s are in good shape. Behind the three leading teams in qualifying Mercedes, Red Bull et Ferrari this Saturday on the Monaco street circuit, it's good Toro Rosso who beat Force India or Williams. “Having both cars in the top ten is a great achievement for everyone. My last lap on supersofts was under yellow flag, but the first was enough to secure 7th place, which is a good position to start tomorrow's race. If we can make everything work together, I'm confident we can finish in the points with both cars. » proclaims the Frenchman.

Because in the wake of the Frenchman, Daniil Kvyat, a novice on the Principality route, achieved a very good performance by finishing 9th despite a big scare in Q1 when braking at the Port chicane. “It was certainly one of the most difficult qualifications of my career, admits the Russian. In Q1, I lost the rear suddenly and hit the wall at the chicane, so I had to come back to the pits for a nose change. I regained confidence straight away and managed to do two good laps in Q2, which I am very happy with. Unfortunately, we had less luck in Q3, because I wasn't able to do a clean lap, after starting on worn tires. »

The Russian was also reprimanded by the stewards for hindering Pastor Maldonado in Q1, but was not penalized.
