Jenson Button in perfect conclusion in Brazil

Jenson Button took his third victory of the season at the Brazilian Grand Prix after his first successes in Melbourne and Spa-Francorchamps. The pilot McLaren was fighting for the lead before Nico Hulkenberg don't hang on with Lewis Hamilton. The Briton was opportunistic and finished the race without being worried by the drivers Ferrari further back, but the 2009 world champion did not steal this victory since he implemented the right strategy by staying on the track with the slicks when most of his opponents went to the pits to put on the grooves when the rain came. It was about to fall in the first laps.

The Briton was able to once again demonstrate his qualities in wet conditions even if he admits to having suffered on this slippery track. “The conditions were really difficult and you had to be careful about everything and check if you were driving with the right tires.”, comments on the last winner of the season in the Sao Paulo paddock. “I just had to attack the limits of the car and wait for the team to give me more information. This event was not simply a question of piloting. »

Despite his victory, Jenson Button can't help but be disappointed for his teammate Lewis Hamilton. The Brazilian Grand Prix pole-sitter led the race before retiring for his final event with McLaren. “It’s sad that Lewis can’t be with me on the podium.”, adds the former world champion. “But these things are part of racing. I would like to say goodbye to him. We have had good times together over the last three seasons and we showed in the first rounds that we could have a very good fight. »
