Jerez / Vettel: Hard to make a comparison

Red Bull Racing carried out convincing tests in Jerez, the RB9 having presented good reliability this week with 372 laps covered at the end of the four days contested by Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel. The Milton Keynes team did not panic the times but Sebastian Vettel still showed a very good pace by setting the fifth fastest time in practice (1'18"565) while being fitted with the hard tyres. “I’m quite satisfied”,commented the German at the end of the last day of testing. " There car Had no issues with reliability and I'm really happy with it. We were able to cover a large number of laps during each day but we can't say much about performance. We don't know what everyone else is doing at the moment and we don't really care. »

Sebastian Vettel and his team will still keep a watchful eye on the top teams during the upcoming tests in Barcelona. There Team Ferrari, McLaren and Lotus F1 Team performed well and could threaten the Red Bull at the start of the season. However, the German will not take anything for granted until the first Grand Prix of the season has been contested. “The other teams will ride more. If we keep our eyes open we might be able to learn a little more about the others, but for now we are focused on understanding our car and working on reliability by completing as many laps as possible. However, Australia will offer a different track with other conditions. The Barcelona track will be fresher than in Jerez and Australia and it will be difficult to establish a hierarchy before the start of the season. »
