John Booth: “A lot of emotions”

Almost a year after the dramatic accident suffered by Jules Bianchi during the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix, the Manor Marussia team will return to the Suzuka track, with the memory still very present of the Frenchman, who died last July.

A necessarily difficult context for all the training staff led by John Booth. “It is inevitable that it will be a week full of emotions for us. Many of the team members who were with us in 2014 are back with us this year. We think of Jules every day, he will always be part of our team.

We were Jules' team, and with that in mind, I will ask everyone to understand and respect that, this weekend, we want to face the experience of returning to Suzuka in a very private way. It is my duty to provide the team with the right environment to be able to do his work despite very difficult circumstances."

Like last weekend in Singapore, the Briton Will Stevens will once again be assisted by the American Alexander Red in Japan, the latter having been recruited for five events, replacing Roberto Merhi.
