Kamui Kobayashi, arrivé chez Sauber après deux très belles courses chez Toyota en 2009, n?a eu que peu l?occasion de briller cette saison. Si la C29 a parfois des difficultés à tenir la distance, elle sait afficher sa vélocité par moments. C?était le cas ce samedi en Turquie, le Japonais ayant réussi à se hisser en Q3, dernière phase de la séance de qualifications, pour la troisième fois de la saison.
« I'm really happy to be in Q3 for the third time, confides Kobayashi. Especially after Monaco, it?s very important for the team. We are finding the rhythm we had in Barcelona. I am more comfortable here this Saturday than Friday because of the evolution of the settings. But, in Q3, I couldn't fight because we no longer had new soft tires, we had already used them. But we continued to work hard and it apparently paid off. »
On the other hand, Pedro de la Rosa did not have the same success since the Spanish veteran was taken out in Q2 and will start in 13th position. “ I have to admit that my last lap was not great, I lost a lot of time in the last sector », declared the former test pilot McLaren.
