Kimi Räikkönen in the right direction

Finnish Kimi Räikkönen started his American weekend cautiously yesterday, notably carrying out a long data collection effort at the start of FP1, his F14 T having been fitted with various sensors. “We analyzed several aerodynamic components. However, I was not comfortable with the set-up at that time, and driving the car was not easy. However, in the afternoon we made several changes and the car behaved much better. On medium tires, I was able to complete a good lap despite the traffic on the track. There is still work to be done but we are moving in the right direction. »

Fernando Alonso noted for its part that the soft tires did not last as long as expected. “Certainly the race will be different from the two previous editions, because with two stops several strategies can appear. »

The third free practice session will begin at 16 p.m. French time and will be followed live on AUTOhebdo.fr. Photos from Friday in Austin can be viewed here.
