Robert Kubica's freelance career will extend beyond the Dutch Grand Prix. Kimi Räikkönen still recovering after his positive coronavirus test last week, the Pole was once again called to the rescue, thus completing a second race in a row at the wheel of the C41.

« First of all, I want to share my best wishes for Kimi. I hope he fully recovers and gets back in the car soon., Robert Kubica wanted to say first before talking about the weekend meeting. I can't wait to race at Monza, an incredible track where I took my first podium in 2006. Unlike Zandvoort, it's a circuit that I know very well which will be useful to me especially with the Sprint format we have one less practice session. I'm happy with what we did in the Netherlands and I'm looking forward to helping the team once again at Monza ».

Starting at the last minute at Zandvoort, Robert Kubica finished 18th in qualifying before finishing 15th in the Grand Prix on Sunday.
