Alfa Romeo appeal rejected, Williams keeps Germany point clinched

The Paris International Court of Appeal delivered its judgment on Tuesday September 24 after the team's challenge Alfa Romeo concerning the double penalty at the end of the 2019 German Grand Prix. The sanction will not be erased from the ranking.

At Hockenheim, Kimi Räikkönen (7th) and Antonio Giovinazzi (8th) each received 30 second penalty on their race time for not having respected the clutch adjustment, accused of having subsequently been used as a traction control.

“The situation arose during the Safety Car phase before the flying start, explained Frédéric Vasseur, the boss of the Swiss team, in a press release. We experienced a clutch malfunction beyond our control. »

This rejected appeal allows Williams and Robert Kubica to preserve their one and only point scored in the first 16 events of season 2019. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) also keeps the two points for ninth place.

At Haas, Romain Grosjean et Kevin Magnussen definitely remain seventh and eighth.
