The 2023 grid is (almost) complete! The last tub available at Haas was picked up by Nico Hulkenberg, which will replace Mick Schumacher next season. We now know all the drivers for the 2023 season, including three rookies (Oscar piastri, Nyck de Vries et Logan sargeant) and a ghost (Nico Hülkenberg).

On the other hand, Mick Schumacher, Daniel Ricciardo et Nicholas latifi will not be on the grid next year, while Sebastian Vettel will retire after the last race of the season, in Abu Dhabi. The two main transfers for the next financial year concern Fernando Alonso et Pierre Gasly : the first leaves Alpine to join Aston Martin, the second replaces him and will be alongsideEsteban Ocon in 2023.

Formula 1 Grid

Here is the composition of the grid in 2023! © Formula 1

Red Bull: #1 Max Verstappen – #11 Sergio Pérez

The 2022 world champion team will continue the adventure with its driver duo. Max Verstappen, twice crowned with Red Bull, is linked with the team until 2028. Sergio Pérez, still in the running for the honorary title of vice-world champion, saw his contract extended until 2024.

Ferrari: #16 Charles Leclerc – #55 Carlos Sainz

Like Red Bull, Ferrari will keep its two current drivers in 2023. After a mixed season, filled with frustrations, the Team will want to play the title with Charles Leclerc et Carlos Sainz next year. The Monegasque, a pure product of the Ferrari Driver Academy, is under contract until 2024, just like the Spaniard.

Mercedes: #44 Lewis Hamilton – #63 George Russell

The team Mercedes She also plays stability and will return with her British duo, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. On a growing dynamic and constant progression this season, with the highlight being the double obtained in Brazil. The seven-time world champion, at the end of his contract in 2023, would like to stay a few more years with the Silver Arrows, alongside the rising star of the F1 and the latest winner, George Russell.

Alpine : #10 Pierre Gasly – #31 Esteban Ocon

Franco-French duo for 2023 at Alpine. After the terrible turmoil of the summer, between the shock departure of Fernando Alonso and the tumults of the Oscar Piastri affair, the French team pulled off a nice coup by signing Pierre Gasly. The Norman will join another Norman, Esteban Ocon, within the… Norman brand. A hell of a gamble on the part of Laurent’s team Red and Otmar Szafnauer.

McLaren: #4 Lando Norris – #81 Oscar Piastri

One Australian hunts another McLaren. Disappointed by the very average performances of Daniel Ricciardo, the British team decided to terminate its contract and offer the services of one of the great talents of the new generation, Oscar Piastri. The young Aussie was stolen from Alpine and will make his Formula 1 debut in 2023 alongside Lando Norris, linked to McLaren until 2025.

Alfa Romeo: #24 Guanyu Zhou – #77 Valtteri Bottas

Satisfied with its 2022 line-up, Alfa Romeo has decided to continue with its two drivers next season. Valtteri Bottas, author of an excellent start to the season, is committed to the Italian-Swiss structure until 2024. For his first year in F1, Guanyu-Zhou fulfilled the expectations placed on it and was extended for another year.

Aston Martin: #14 Fernando Alonso – #18 Lance Stroll

The big blow of the silly season is to the credit of Aston Martin. Following the announcement of Sebastian Vettel's retirement, Aston Martin managed to compensate for the departure of its four-time world champion by replacing him with Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard, unhappy with the negotiations with Alpine, went English style to Lawrence Stroll's stable. The son, Lance stroll, is comfortably installed at Silverstone…

Haas: #20 Kevin Magnussen – #27 Nico Hülkenberg

An electric duo at Haas in 2023. Kevin Magnussen, the latest pole sitter with an incredible pole at Interlagos, will be joined by Nico Hülkenberg next season. The German is making a spectacular return to F1 after three seasons on the sidelines, despite a few appearances in Grand Prix as a luxury replacement at Aston Martin (formerly Racing Point). The two friends, with their sulphurous pasts, will bring all their experience to develop the car and the team in 2023, also thanks to the financial contribution of a new title sponsor, MoneyGram.

AlphaTauri: #22 Yuki Tsunoda – Nyck de Vries

A sizeable line-up at Alpha Tauri ! To replace a Pierre Galsy on the departure towardsAlpine, the Red Bull family has recruited Nyck de Vries, 27, champion of Formula E in 2021 and protected by the Mercedes team. The Dutchman will finally have the opportunity to prove himself in F1, more than three years after his title in Formula 2. He will be alongside Yuki tsunoda in 2023. The Japanese will arrive in his 3rd season with the Italian team, often fatal for his predecessors when performances are lacking...

Williams: #23 Alexander Albon – Logan Sargeant

This was the last question concerning the 2023 grid. If Alexander albon was confirmed at Williams in 2023 during the summer, doubt still hovered on Logan Sargeant's side. The American driver, currently engaged in Formula 2 with Carlin, had been announced as the starting driver at Williams next season... if and only if he obtained his Super License. It's now done with 4th place in the Formula 2 championship! The Floridian will be the first American to participate in a Grand Prix since Alexander Rossi in 2015.
