For the second time in its history and after the British Grand Prix, the sprint race makes its return in Formula 1. The results of this race will determine the starting grid for this Sunday's Grand Prix at Monza.

Friday, during the qualifying session, Valtteri Bottas achieved the best time during Q3. The Finn will start in pole position for this sprint race, ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton. Max Verstappen is positioned in 3rd position, in front of the drivers McLaren.
Pierre Gasly is 6th on the starting grid, ahead of the Ferrari de Charles Leclerc, 8th. Despite his accident during this morning's free practice session, Carlos Sainz Jr will be able to take his place on the starting grid, in 7th position. Sergio Perez (9th) and Antonio Giovinazzi (10th) complete the Top 10.
