F1 signs major partnership with Aramco

This is undoubtedly a new key step on the road which should lead to the holding of a first Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in the near future. 

La Formula 1 has just announced the signing of a major sponsorship agreement with the Saudi oil company Saudi Aramco. 

The press release sent by Liberty Media states that Aramco and F1 will work together to “ identify ways to develop and promote biofuels, improve engine efficiency and encourage the emergence of new mobility technologies ».

The agreement between the two parties also provides for Aramco to be the title sponsor of the 2020 Spanish, Hungarian and United States Grands Prix and to have strong advertising visibility around most of the circuits on the calendar. .

Nasser, CEO of Saudi Aramco. As a world leader in energy supply and innovation, we aim to find sustainable and new solutions to bring to life even more efficient and environmentally friendly engines. ». 

At the end of 2019, F1 revealed its ambition to present a neutral carbon footprint by 2030, while Saudi Arabia has been working for several months to soon host a Formula 1 Grand Prix in Qiddiya, in the heart of a huge complex dedicated to entertainment and located about forty from the capital Riyadh.
