FIA warns Verstappen for his Styria finish celebration

At the finish of the Styrian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen let his joy explode. Victorious in the lands of Red Bull, the championship leader performed a small burn at the checkered flag. Which was not at all to the taste of the race management.
If drivers are allowed to celebrate, they must do so safely, paying attention to drivers coming at high speed behind them.
“I immediately sent a message to Red Bull to say that this is not acceptable, admits Michael Masi. This is something that will no longer be tolerated from now on.”
The race management is further tightening the rules, as has been the case for several weeks now. We remember that since Monaco, the track marshals no longer have the right to wave the flags during the deceleration lap at the end of a Grand Prix because it “distracts the drivers”.
