The theater of the Spanish F1 Grand Prix and Catalan Grand Prix MotoGP has undergone several changes including the widening of the escape route at turn 13 of the motorcycle route and the resurfacing of the track. Objective: find the best possible balance between the two main disciplines.

The work, which led to the cessation of all competition during the month of January 2018, has entered its final phase, notably with the installation of the timing antennas. Racing lines and curbs are also being painted in preparation for reopening this Saturday.

Formula 1 drivers will discover the changes in a few weeks with the official winter testing kicking off on February 26. Their counterparts on two wheels will experience these new features during the two days of testing planned one month before the Catalan Grand Prix.
