The FIA inaugurates its Hall of Fame

The International Automobile Federation inaugurated this Monday evening at the ACF premises in Paris its Hall of Fame dedicated to former champions of F1. The FIA selected the 33 drivers who won the title to establish its "Wall of Fame" similar to that found in disciplines such as Nascar.

For the occasion, nine world champions made the trip with Sir Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti, Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneuve, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg. Several family members of other champions were also present.

“The FIA Hall of Fame was created to highlight the values that drive motorsport and the champions who remain examples of the commitment, integrity, respect and sportsmanship that motivate the FIA, commented the president of the Federation Jean Todt. This is the first step in an ambitious project. The FIA Hall of Fame will soon expand to offices in Geneva (Switzerland) and other champions and other disciplines will be in the spotlight in the years to come. With this we will celebrate the FIA champions who have made or continue to make the history of motorsport so rich and inspiring. »
