The FIA towards conciliation?

La Formula 1, being a world apart, strongly resembles a State, in the way it governs its proper functioning. With its rules, its laws, its government... And the way of carrying out its reforms seems equal to the functioning of a State. On the one hand, decisions taken without consultation. On the other, threats to go to war so that these decisions are reviewed.

Depuis, Toyota, Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Ferrari et Renault have called into question their participation in the 2010 world championship. If the FIA wishes to open the world of F1 to other manufacturers, it does not want to see the paddock renewed almost entirely, for fear of seeing a championship depleted in performance and in quality.

This is how the FIA and Max Mosley, as well as Bernie Ecclestone, will receive representatives of FOTA, the F1 team association, in London this Friday. If the discussions risk being heated, the outcome could lead to the satisfaction of the teams. The Federation has often backed away from threats of withdrawal from manufacturers and should, in all wisdom, soften its measures for 2010. Or the standoff would result in a withdrawal of certain manufacturers from Formula 1 which is not, as has been clarified Ferrari, just one motorsport among many others. This meeting must, in any case, lead to concrete decisions since the closing date for registrations for the 2010 championship is scheduled for May 29. But in this world of F1 where everything goes very quickly, it's an eternity.
