The pilot Red Bull This is due to a poor choice of tires since he decided to put on intermediates even though he was comfortable with the rain in the first part of Q3. He then lacked grip which cost him first place on the grid.

« When we tried to go out on intermediate tires in Q1, I already had no grip. The track was definitely better in Q3 but for us the intermediate tires were terrible. The rain tires were good and very comfortable to use ».

If he thinks he is capable of doing " pretty Things » in the race, Max Verstappen calls himself a “ little disappointed » at the end of the day on Saturday, and there is something to be said for it. “ When you're first all weekend and you finish second, it's not what you wanted ».
