Faster than Mercedes in qualifying on Saturday, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) will start in pole position this Sunday at Le Castellet for the French Grand Prix.
Very comfortable in the Var, the Dutchman clearly dominated Lewis Hamilton et Valtteri Bottas relegating them to 2 and 3 tenths respectively to sign the 5th pole of his career.

Slightly behind during qualifying, Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) starts behind the leading trio and just in front Carlos Sainz, first representative of the Team Ferrari on the grid while his teammate Charles Leclerc is 7th.
Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri) once again showed great things on Saturday, securing his ticket for Q3. At the end of the latter, the Norman was ranked 6th. Lando Norris (McLaren), Fernando Alonso (Alpine) and Daniel Ricciardo (McLaren) complete the Top 10.

Home, Esteban Ocon (Alpine) could not do better than an 11th place in qualifying, thus finishing at the gates of Q3. He got ahead Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin), Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) and George Russell (Williams).
Causing a red flag at the end of Q1 which allowed him to keep his place, Mick Schumacher (Haas) signed his best career performance with a 15th position.
Without a timer, Lance stroll (Aston Martin) and Yuki tsunoda (Alpha Tauri) bring up the rear.
