Scuderia Ferrari remains positive ahead of Monza

During the first part of the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend at Spa, la Team Ferrari was the center of attention, but for reasons that Maurizio Arrivabene and his troops certainly did not expect.

From the start, Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel were confronted with the Red Bull de Max Verstappen with the consequences that we know: a damaged front wing and a puncture for the Finn, while his German teammate would lose big by almost spinning, and also being the victim of a damaged front wing.

Sixth and ninth at the checkered flag, the two SF16-Hs were able to climb into the top 10, saving a few points in the duel opposing them for the Manufacturers' championship to the Red Bull RB12. Despite this unenviable result, the Scuderia management believes that the Belgian round proved the potential of its cars.

“Today we probably had the pace to finish the Grand Prix with both drivers on the podium, proclaims the Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari. Unfortunately, the accident in the first corner ruined our race.

The positive points that we can keep are that, despite significant damage, our car demonstrated its speed and resistance throughout the race. And this bodes well for our home Grand Prix in Monza. »

The Scuderia will go to an event where it has not won since 2010, with the success of Fernando Alonso, then engaged in his first season with the trans teamalpine, and who will narrowly fail to conquer a third world crown at the end of the year against Sebastian Vettel.
