Former McLaren team manager tackles Pérez

Sergio Pérez was not lucky when he arrived at McLaren at the time the Woking stable foundered. The Mexican was replaced by Kevin Magnussen after only one season spent with the British team. If management has always publicly supported Checo's career, it seems that his behavior has not been without reproach. If the Mexican's aggressive driving is often criticized, his attitude off the track would also have been annoying.

It was Jo Ramirez, the former coordinator and team manager of McLaren, who expressed his reluctance in the press. “Sergio was not bad as a driver (at McLaren). I even think he was improving”, commented Checo's compatriot in motorline.cc. “Sergio just wasn't good enough as a person. He didn't really cooperate with the team, he was too cocky and had a very bad attitude. He was unpopular with the engineers, with everyone. I sometimes criticized him in the press, but never as a driver because he was competent. I was at the Jérez test this year with McLaren and Sauber and no one was able to tell me anything positive about Sergio. They all say that he must change his attitude if he wants to stay in F1."

Sergio Pérez currently occupies 11th place in the Championship, playing for Force India, 35 points behind his teammate Nico Hulkenberg. The Mexican recently made headlines when he was held responsible for the collision with Felipe Massa at the Canadian Grand Prix.
