Lawrence Stroll, “extremely angry”, breaks his silence and scolds his rivals

He very rarely speaks in public but the situation has deteriorated so much that it has pushed him to come out of his usual media silence.

Lawrence Stroll, big boss Racing Point, joined the verbal escalation which followed the verdict of the stewards regarding the legality of the RP20's brake ducts.

The stewards came to the conclusion that the pink team had not designed the elements in question, which passed into the category of Listed Parts in 2020 and must therefore be produced by each of the teams to claim Manufacturer status. F1, as well as the financial bonuses that accompany it.

Racing Point lost 15 points at the Styrian Grand Prix and was fined 400 euros but can still use the controversial brake designs as they are on point from a technical point of view.

A sanction considered too lenient by rival teamsIncluding Renault who initiated the movement by filing multiple complaints over the past month.

Ferrari, McLaren, and Williams, joined the camp of the French manufacturer and appealed the decision of the commissioners. Racing Point chose to do the same, for diametrically opposed reasons of course.

« I am extremely angry about the accusations of cheating and embezzlement, declared Lawrence Stroll in a long press release distributed this Sunday. I have never cheated in my life and these allegations are simply unacceptable and false. My integrity and that of my stable are beyond reproach.

Everyone at Racing Point was shocked and disappointed by the FIA's verdict and we continue to maintain our innocence.

Beyond the fact that Racing Point respects the technical regulations, I am appalled by the attitude of McLaren, Ferrari, Williams and Renault, who have decided to appeal

Lawrence Stroll In this way, they are trying to distract from our performances. They are dragging our name through the mud and I refuse to accept that.

I am ready to use all legal means to demonstrate our innocence

My team has worked hard to produce a performance car and I am really upset by the lack of fair play shown by our rivals ».

The Racing Point saga is clearly just beginning.
