The GIP for the French Grand Prix on track

Last Monday on the Castellet circuit, the Public Interest Group (GIP) which will manage the organization of the French Grand Prix of F1 in 2018, officially began its work, definitively launching the return of F1 to France.

Under the presidency of Christian Estrosi, president of the PACA region, this GIP will have several objectives: 

– Promote the event in France and internationally.
– Generate the projected 14 million euros in ticket sales to guarantee the budgetary balance of the Grand Prix. This is the purpose of the contract relating to commercial rights which was signed with the FOM.
– The provision of infrastructure (circuits / transport) in particular Castellet Airport which will serve as a heliport base and parking.

The bank guarantee via Crédit Agricole Alpes-Provence has also been made official. All GIP partners and more details on the economic sector will be revealed on April 8.
