The Historic French GP takes over

After the coming of the F1 last week at Paul-Ricard (Var), it is the turn of the Historic French GP to organize its second edition after the one held two years earlier at Magny-Cours. The Nivernais circuit will host numerous historic racing cars for three days starting Friday with around fifteen races on the program.

On the menu, around twenty F1 cars from the 1970s and 1980s will be lined up as part of the FIA ​​Masters Historic F1 Championship with two races planned for the weekend. The grid will notably accommodate the McLaren MP4/1, the Brabham BT49, the Williams FW07C, the Ligier JS11, the Tyrrell 009, 011 and 012, the Lotus 87B, the Shadow DN8, the Hesketh 308E.

F1 fans will be able to look forward to seeing Jacques Laffite return to the track in the Ligier JS11 from the 1979 season. Philippe Alliot, Jean-Pierre Jabouille, Patrick Tambay, Jean-Pierre Jarier, Erik Comas and Yannick Dalmas will also be making the trip.

La F2 will also be well represented with 37 single-seaters at the start from March, Chevron, Brabham, Ralt, Lotus, Tecno and Pygmée dating from before 1979. The field of single-seaters will be completed by F3, Formula Renault and Formula Fords.

The French Historic GP will also welcome the Sport-Protos which competed in the world championship for brands between 1962 and 1974. The grid will notably include Ferrari 512, Lola T70 and Ford GT40. Old GTs and touring cars will also be in the spotlight.

The show will be complemented by an auction, an air show, a concert and fireworks, etc.
