British Grand Prix remains important for Liberty Media

The letter sent by the BRDC to its members before the holidays had launched the debate around the future of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone after 2019. The BRDC had also recently published a press release to put an end to the speculation surrounding the future of the race, with a decision to be made only during the summer.

When Liberty Media has formalized its acquisition of F1, the new boss of the discipline Chase Carey returned to the future of the Grand Prix among our English neighbors, one of the pillars of the championship and part of the traditions according to the American in the same way as Monaco or Monza.

“We will have a British Grand Prix, explains Carey at the BBC. The foundations of this sport are in Western Europe. We want to develop it.

There is a dynamic negotiation that exists, but we want a healthy relationship with our promoters. We will look at ways to make events bigger and better.

Chase Carey also spoke to Sky News the reasons for the changes announced yesterday in the organization chart of the discipline with the withdrawal of Bernie Ecclestone and the return of Ross Brawn, appointed to the position of Motor Sports director.
