The Turkish Grand Prix finally behind closed doors

The health situation finally got the better of the hopes of the organizers of the Turkish Grand Prix, which will return from November 13 to 15 after 9 years of absence from the calendar, to welcome the public.

Initially, the promoter Intercity aimed for a crowd of 100 people (out of the 000 seats in the Istanbul venue) but he ultimately had to change his mind due to the Coronavirus pandemic, which is experiencing a rebound in Europe.

In a press release, local authorities in the city of Istanbul announced that the event would take place behind closed doors. They specify that the return of F1 in Turkey had aroused great interest with 40 tickets sold in just a few hours.

After a start to the season without any spectators, the anti-Covid 19 health protocol began to relax from the Tuscan GP in Mugello, where nearly 3 people were authorized. There were around 000 per day in Sochi 30 rounds ago for a Russian round which smacked of the world of the Before.

There will be 20 at the Nürburgring this weekend in Germany and 000 at Imola (Italy) on October 13 and November 147. Between these two dates, the Portuguese GP also plans to welcome the public to Portimão.
