Vietnam Grand Prix officially canceled

Initially scheduled for last April, the Vietnam Grand Prix was logically initially postponed. If it did not appear among the 17 rounds of the new calendar unveiled by the F1 and Liberty Media, the Vietnamese meeting was on standby with a view to possibly holding it before the end of 2020, until this Friday.

« This was a very difficult but necessary decision given the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic ". This is how the organizers announced the official cancellation of the Vietnam Grand Prix via a press release.

« We are unable to host the most exciting and prestigious discipline in world motorsport in 2020 in Vietnam due to the health crisis, regrets Madame Le Ngoc Chi, director of VGPC (Vietnam Grand Prix Corporation, the promoter of the meeting). It was the only solution after carefully analyzing all security plans and their effectiveness under current conditions. ».

VGPC undertakes to reimburse all ticket holders for the Vietnam Grand Prix.
