Discover in particular our file on the adventure of Renault Sport in competition including an interview with Gérard Larousse, the decades of the Losange in F1. The French brand also shone in Endurance and Rally, in Production and with WSR and more recently distinguished itself in Formula e.

Our file also looks back on the entry of the turbo into F1 in 1977:

July 16, 1977. Less than a year after a curious laboratory chassis dressed all in black made its first laps in private testing, a Renault F1 with a turbo engine arrived in the paddock of the Silverstone circuit. The beginning of a long and difficult technical adventure, and the birth of a nickname that remains famous: the yellow teapot.

A car wasp color, black and yellow, with very low side pontoons, stopped at the level of the engine mount, very high cockpit sides and short cut nose, not graceful and masking a small oil radiator adopted on the fly. Jean Sage had sent the entry form a few weeks earlier. This former English military airfield, transformed into a circuit made up of six straight lines connected by a few rapid curves, fitted rather well with the characteristics of the turbo engine as imagined by Renault...
