One more time, Williams did not have a good season in 2022. Still suffering in the design of its car, the Grove (UK) team did not produce a car capable of fighting regularly for points. Certainly Alexander albon, Nicholas latifi, And even Nyck de Vries gleaned a few units but the opportunities to appear in the Top 10 were rare for them.

The FW44 has sometimes shown its advantage, notably thanks to a good top speed on fast circuits, like the Italian Grand Prix at Monza last September. So for 2023, where she will be able to count on a much more competitive duo with Albon and a Logan sargeant promoted and promising, the British team knows what it must work on to offer them better equipment.

« I think we know where we need to improve. A lot of it is about finding the right balance (on the car), advance Alex Albon who developed his argument. Nicky (Nicholas Latifi, who was his teammate at the time) and I agree that we should be able to drive the car the way we want. We feel a little limited by the car in certain types of corners.

It's one thing to know what you need, and another to achieve it. A lot of time, I'm talking half of this year already, has been dedicated to making sure that the development for next year is going in the right direction and we're making sure we don't forget anything »

As a first step, it would already be wise to appoint a new main team and recruit a technical director, two vacant positions since the surprise departures of Jost Capito and François-Xavier Demaison last month.

It's not like the first Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain is scheduled for March 3-5...
