Qatar would be close to an agreement to host the F1 from 2016 or 2017. This is in any case what Nasser ben Khalifa Al-Attiyah, President of the National Motorsport Federation and FIA vice-president for sport in the Middle East, told AFP. “We are about to sign the contracts to organize one of the F1 Grands Prix. We have completed all the procedures and only a few details remain before the official signing. »
Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Attiyah confirmed that Qatar has proposed two circuits located near Doha, including the Losail International Circuit route which already hosts the Moto GP, and that it could be ready as early as next year or within two years. The project of a Grand Prix in this emirate had been announced by Bernie Ecclestone last November.
