Top 4 remains Lotus F1 Team's goal

After a difficult 2011 season, both on a human and sporting level, Lotus has turned things around perfectly this year and already has four podiums in seven Grands Prix. The team is now 11 points ahead of Ferrari thanks to a duo, composed of Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean, capable of scoring points on each and a fast Lotus E20 on all types of circuit.

“Finishing in the Top 4 remains the objective, and I think we are realistic”, confides Gerard Lopez to Autosport. “If we can finish higher we will, but the aim is to finish 4th. I think at this stage of the season we are one of the best teams because both of our drivers are capable of scoring points. »

With Romain Grosjean's second place, victory was once again not far away after that won by Kimi Räikkönen in Bahrain. Gérard Lopez knows that the first step on the podium is not very far away but is satisfied to see his cars in the points in each race.

“If you start 7th and 11, you can play for the podium. You can win a race, but it's difficult. For us to win a race the whole package has to work and there are a lot of people trying to do the same thing. But as long as our drivers score points, I'm very happy. »
