Vietnam announces it will win a Grand Prix in 2020

We still have to wait for official confirmation from the FIA, but it seems that the calendar F1 2020 will go through Vietnam . The city of Hanoi indicated the information this Thursday in a communication taken up by AFP.

“The city of Hanoi has obtained the hosting of a Formula 1 World Championship race, from April 2020” thus mentions the Asian city. It has been several months since Vietnam returned to the potential destinations for F1, the country's governing bodies working with this in mind.

However, no confirmation has been received from Liberty Media, owner of the discipline, nor from the FIA. But this potential new destination highlights the desire to open up the F1 calendar even further, with Miami also in the running for the organization of a second event in the United States.

Last May, Red Bull Racing had carried out a demonstration in the streets of Ho Chi Minh.
