Leclerc with Ferrari at the Hungarian tests

Charles Leclerc had already driven in F1 with Ferrari during private testing at Silverstone in 2016. He will repeat the experience this season during the testing days after the Hungarian Grand Prix, as he confirms on social networks.

« I am very happy to announce that I will be driving for one day for Scuderia Ferrari for F1 testing after the Hungarian Grand Prix."

This will be his first contact with the single-seaters in the 2017 configuration since, unlike 2016, Leclerc does not have a free testing program planned with Haas F1 Team. The Monegasque is increasingly asserting himself as a real contender for a seat in F1 from 2018. He would thus be the first driver from the Ferrari Driver Academy to join F1 after Jules Bianchi in 2013 with Marussia.

Today engaged in Formula 2 with Prema Racing, Leclerc crushed the championship with 6 poles and 5 victories in 6 race weekends, which gave him a lead of 67 points over his runner-up at mid-season.
