Leclerc penalized at Brazilian GP

Charles Leclerc will be condemned to start at least from the middle of the grid at the Brazilian GP played this weekend on the Interlagos circuit in Sao Paulo. There Team Ferrari will install a new Power Unit on its SF90 after the Monegasque suffered an oil leak during qualifying in Texas, forcing the team to install an old engine for the race.

“Charles will have a new Power Unit after his last engine was damaged on Saturday in Austin. He had to use an older model that was less powerful for the rest of the weekend.", confirmed Team Principal Mattia Binotto.

“The installation of this new Power Unit will result in a penalty on the Sao Paulo grid, but we should return to our normal level of performance and display a fighting spirit in order to end the season on a good note. It's important to show that we're making progress on the car before we head into the winter break.", added the Italian.

Charles Leclerc occupies 3rd place in the Championship with 14 points ahead of Max Verstappen (Red Bull) with two Grands Prix at the end of the season.
