The dates of the 2020 pre-season tests confirmed

The World Motor Sport Council in Cologne, Germany this Friday confirmed the calendar F1 2020, without major changes compared to the versions seen in recent weeks.

The main new features remain the arrival of Hanoi (Vietnam – April 5) and Zandvoort (Netherlands – May 3), the rest of the structure of the program remaining identical to that of 2019. The French Grand Prix will notably be contested on June 28 at Paul Ricard.

However, nothing has filtered out on potential trial studies of new formats, in particular the possible introduction of a sprint race. An e-vote must also take place on the 2020 sporting regulations.

E-vote which will also be required for progress on the work with a view to the 2021 regulations, which must be presented on October 31.

The FIA, on the other hand, recorded two bursts of three days of winter testing, one less per session compared to 2019, still organized in Barcelona in Catalonia. The first session will be contested from February 19 to 21, the second from February 26 to 28.

Liberty Media has also removed the running sessions organized during the season, in order to give more importance to Friday testing.
