Details of 2019 developments in video

The official site of the F1 has published a video explaining the developments planned for next year in order to facilitate overtaking.

The future regulations should notably intervene on the front wing by reducing the side deflectors but widening the front wing by 20cm to reach a length of 2000mm. The height of the fin should gain 20mm while the number of deflectors located under the element should be reduced.

The brake ducts will also be simplified to modify the distribution of air around the car.

The side deflectors will evolve on the same principle by gaining 100mm at the front and being reduced by 150mm in height.

The rear wing will not be forgotten with a less tortured side surface. The DRS aperture will increase by 20mm to 85mm, which should improve its efficiency by 25 to 30%. The DRS zones will also be re-examined by the FIA. The total length of the rear wing will gain 100mm for a total of 1050mm.
