Following the announcement of Ross Brawn's retirement, several team principals paid tribute to the work carried out by the British manager.

Team principals praise Ross Brawn's work with F1

After the announcement, the tributes. Monday November 28, Ross Brawn, technical and sporting director of the Formula 1, announced his retirement at 68, after more than 45 seasons spent in the premier category of motorsport. A great character in the history of F1 that the team directors did not fail to salute.

Thanks for all of his work with Formula 1

The former technical director, who moved to Benetton, Ferrari, Honda and Mercedes notably, received several messages of tribute from his friends, starting with Andreas Seidl, Team Principal at McLaren. “I think we can only thank Ross [Brawn] for everything he has done for us, the teams, and for Formula 1. Not just during those years when he was working for Formula 1, but throughout of her career ". The German engineer salutes the Briton's in-depth work with F1 and the FIA, particularly on the new regulations and the Concorde Agreements, and believes that Ross Brawn has left the competition “with an excellent foundation for the future thanks to all his work”.

Same story with Günther Steiner, team director Haas. The Italian highlighted the positive effect of the 2022 regulations as something Brawn can be particularly proud of. “I think that's the biggest compliment we can give to Ross, because this new rule was like his baby, commented Gunther Steiner. He was there when needed to make these things happen for Formula 1. Formula 1's current success is partly due to him too. It's a team effort, but he was a big part of the team, so thank you, Ross, and all the best for the future. »

“We owe a lot to Ross Brawn”

Five years after his arrival as sporting and technical director of Formula 1, Ross Brawn leaves behind an important legacy. In addition to the new technical regulations put in place in 2022, the Briton will also have been one of the architects of the renewed popularity of F1. He was at the helm during the introduction of Sprint races in 2021 and wrote the outline of the new engine regulations for 2026.

Otmar Szafnauer, team principal Alpine, also praised the work of the English director. “We owe Ross a lot and we thank him. He played a big role in the new regulations and I think we achieved the entertainment value we wanted. I would also like to thank him for all the effort he has put in, whether as a team owner, winning a championship or winning with Ferrari and then using all that experience to help Formula 1 in general to shape it for the future. I wish him the best in whatever he does next, whether it's fishing or whatever he loves. »
