The teams talk about the sounds of the V6

Reading the reactions on the Internet from right to left, the noise of the turbo/hybrid V6s does not seem to please fans and certain managers of the F1 including Bernie Ecclestone, the first to step up to the plate after the Australian Grand Prix. Among the teams, reactions are less vehement towards the melodies of the 2014 Power Units.

« It's true that the engine noise is different, but it's not much different from the turbo sound we had in the 70s and 80s. F1 needs a bit of time to see what's going on and how it develops. » explains Eric Boullier, competition director of Mclaren racing at the BBC.

A point of view taken up in particular by Claire Williams. " Personally, I like the sound of the engines, but most of all I like F1 and watching the cars go around a circuit. declares the Deputy Team Principal of Williams Martini Racing. I think people will get used to it quickly. »
