The teams want to return to 2015 qualifying

The series of qualifications format in F1 never stops experiencing twists and turns. After an introduction during the Australian Grand Prix, the new elimination format was clearly not unanimous in the paddock, with the teams aiming to quickly return to the previous format.

On the sidelines of the Bahrain Grand Prix, no agreement between the teams, Bernie Ecclestone and the FIA had emerged, and a meeting was planned for Thursday, April 7 to raise the subject again.

The idea of ​​a combination of the two best times during each phase (Q1, Q2 and Q3) mentioned during the Bahrain meeting did not seem to be favored by the teams, which, according to the BBC, sent a letter to the governing bodies of the discipline to indicate their desire to return to the 2015 format. For their part, Bernie Ecclestone and the president of the FIA ​​Jean Todt do not want the return of the format seen until the Grand Prix of 'Abu Dhabi last year.
