FP2 of the Chinese GP canceled

Free practice 2 of the Chinese GP was canceled due to poor weather at the Shanghai International Circuit. If the track was wet, it was because of the fog that the marshals did not display the green flag, the medical helicopter not being certain of being able to carry out an emergency evacuation in the event of a problem.

“The helicopter cannot get to the hospital which is 38km away, explained Charlie Whiting, the FIA race director. Conditions appear to be acceptable on the runway and helicopters can fly, but this is not the case in downtown Shanghai. »

The situation will be particularly complicated for the teams who only completed 88 laps in total in the first practice session due to the rain. The final practice session scheduled for tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. (French time) will be decisive for the rest of the weekend.
