At the heart of concerns the previous week, the fragile electrics of the Mercedes W11 are no longer a central subject for the British-German team thanks to the work of the engineers.

Electrical concerns have disappeared at Mercedes

The striking force of Mercedes struck again Formula 1. The Star brand, touched by serious electrical damage during the opening of the 2020 season in Austria due to the passage on the curbs of the Red Bull Ring, corrected the situation in a week on the same circuit.

After a double led by Lewis Hamilton before Valtteri Bottas, Toto wolff welcomed the work carried out by the engineers. “It was quite a task to get our worries from the previous weekend under control, indicated the main Austrian team.

The problem with the transmission sensors has been resolved. As for the suspension concerns, we're not totally comfortable, but everything went well. This track hasn't been very kind to us in recent years, but we were never really worried this weekend.", continues the troop leader.

The winner of the Styrian Grand Prix confirmed the good impressions regarding the reliability of the mechanics. “ The team did a fantastic job to iron out some problems encountered during the previous race, said Lewis Hamilton.

I had the opportunity to attack more and extract the full potential of the car (compared to the Austrian GP. Editor’s note). The electrical problem could have had significant consequences and we never heard the engineers tell us about it since the beginning of the week. We were able to drive as if nothing had happened. » This will hardly please the competition.
